I always find the boutique brands suspension to be a draw for me beyond just a special horst link etc. I'm guessing that WAO can easily tune the carbon stiffness to be like a titanium or steel frame, since they do everything in house. Maybe a bit premature until that specific review comes out, but I'm in the flexier is better camp. Extra cush & stability may benefit mortals more than pros hunting for 10ths. I think the fundamental issue (for some people) is the reach numbers are short relative to the seat tubes, which is a problem almost every other enduro bike has moved away from these days.
The suspension is very progressive, a trait that works well on a shorter travel bike like this. It’s super easy to toss around, to get airborne and aim for a little sniper landing. Granted, the frame isn't completely carbon – the rear end is aluminum – but still, that figure on the scales is very reasonable, especially considering the $3,399 price tag. Oh no, the 10th middleman that needs a cut of profit between manufacturer and the consumer is getting screwed! I’m not saying that justifies people’s behavior, but there’s definitely a non-bizarre reason to explain it. It drops more in the vertical plane, for sure, but it ends up in a spot that feels like it interferes more.

Of course that was just one test, but I do think its going to be very dependent on the track and rider.

The STA changing .3° isn't that important since that's less that what can be compensated for by saddle adjustment. So personally, i'd avoid YT, even if their bikes feel amazing. There is a small percentage of riders that can both handle and longer bike and actually benefit from it in the middle of the ability spectrum. A well rounded bike without any extremes or unusual features might be boring but fast. It could also be that since its a “middle of the road” bike, its easy to adapt to.
